Invisalign® in Oxnard, CA
Although we all want a beautiful, straight smile, we often are not able to achieve it naturally. Many patients in Oxnard, CA have misalignments or gaps in their teeth. Fortunately, there are treatments available to help change the position of the teeth to address these alignment issues. One option available in orthodontic treatment is the Invisalign® treatment, a system of clear aligners that gradually move the teeth along the gumline. We are proud to offer this treatment at Dentistry by Seabridge to help produce straighter, more attractive smiles that our patients will love.
What is Invisalign?
Like other orthodontic treatments, Invisalign works by applying gentle and constant pressure to the teeth to change their position. Instead of doing this through a system of uncomfortable and cumbersome wires and brackets, Invisalign utilizes a series of custom-made aligners.
Benefits of Invisalign
A major benefit of the Invisalign treatment is that it is much more comfortable than traditional metal braces. The metal wires and brackets of traditional braces often can irritate and even injure the soft tissues in the mouth. The aligners of the Invisalign system are smooth, resulting in no pain or irritation. Additionally, they are almost invisible. So, while metal braces can be conspicuous, unattractive, and make the wearer feel self-conscious, Invisalign will have minimal impact on daily life. They are also removable, which makes brushing much easier.
Procedure
To undergo Invisalign in Oxnard, CA, you will need a consultation with your dentist at Dentistry by Seabridge, who is authorized and experienced in providing the treatment. During this appointment, you will have detailed measurements taken of your teeth and mouth, and a customized treatment plan will be created. This plan will calculate the movement of the teeth and generate the measurements for the aligners, which will be created in a dental lab.
You will need to wear the aligners in a specific order following the treatment plan. Each aligner must be worn for at least 20 hours a day and will need to be changed out approximately every week. You will also need to return to your dentist’s office in Oxnard, CA for check-ups. You will receive detailed instructions from our knowledgeable staff at Dentistry by Seabridge.
